Statistics
Statistical information exists on just about any conceivable subject, including CSD topics. Much of it is published by federal agencies such as the U.S. Census Bureau, in particular the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services. Although these resources are very helpful, it may be more advantageous to look first for statistics published by professional CSD associations and educational institutions publishing disability and other similar statistical information. Other related federal agencies such as those overseeing Medicare and Medicaid, Social Security and state rehabilitation and special education programs are also good sources of statistical information.
