Teenage Tycoons

JMU Media Resources DVD 4310

Princeton, N.J. : Films Media Group, 2007
1 DVD (30 min.)

Children still dream of becoming firefighters or astronauts—and many parents still nudge their offspring toward professions like doctor or lawyer. However, an increasing number of young people view freewheeling entrepreneurship as a valid career choice—and enjoy solid parental endorsement along the way. This program reports on successful ventures undertaken by kids as young as 10 using the same resources most adult-owned start-ups make use of: their brains, their sweat, and the Internet. While support from mom and dad is also a factor, the film clearly shows that children can profit from businesses far above and beyond the lemonade stands of yesteryear.
