In addition to media equipment that can be loaned for occasional use in class, there is a growing number of Technology Classrooms (TCs) with more sophisticated multimedia display capabilities. Media Resources fills a key role in both creating and supporting these technology classroom facilities on campus.

Technology Orientation:
Media Resources staff can provide orientation for Technology Classroom systems, as well as for individual types of media equipment available on loan. Orientations should be arranged by contacting staff at x86799 or West Camus email tchelp@jmu.edu & East Campus email help@cisat.jmu.edu.

Designing & Creating Technology Classrooms:
Media Resources coordinates the efforts of a "classroom facilities design team," which draws on the expertise of a number of offices (Computing Support, Telecommunications, Facilities Management, etc.) to assist in designing and constructing multimedia installations for classrooms. Departments or colleges which have funded technology projects that they wish to begin, should contact the Director for initial consultation.

Technology Classroom Maintenance:
Media Resources and Computiung Support are responsible for the overall maintenance of TC equipment. Initial problems should be reported to the Media Technicians at x86799 or tchelp@jmu.edu.
For further information on service in the TCs, consult "Technology Classrooms" and their General Service Policy.

Technology Classroom Software Installation
Faculty users are welcome to make new hardware/software requests, but should note the following policy and request deadlines:

Software Installation Requests
Deadline for Requests -
See Computing Support Important Deadlines.

Requests for class-specific software must be made via the web form at: http://www.jmu.edu/computing/labs/forms/   The requester must provide a legal copy of the software to Computing Support.
