Consists of sixteen leaves that had been part of various bound volumes created in Europe at different times from the Medieval to the Modern periods. Six of the leaves are examples of early printing techniques and ten are manuscripts created by the Catholic Church before 1600. The items are housed in one 1/2 Hollinger box and one oversize flat box.

Nine leaves were purchased in 2009. One was purchased in 2010. Six were purchased in 2011.

The items digitally represented here were created by photographing with a Canon Rebel XT with a Sigma 50mm lens piecing large images in Adobe Photoshop and magnifying them with Zoomify Express, then creating and linking the pages from which to serve them on the finding aid. Project staff included Julia Merkel (photography and piecing), Tiffany Cole (magnifying),Tracy Harter (page creation/linking), and Gabe Camut (page creation/linking).
Because this is an artificial collection, a historical note is not applicable.
The Historic Manuscript Collection consists of items collected to illustrate the history of book production. The collection contains ten manuscript leaves created during the medieval and Renaissance periods (1250-1550), in Latin, commissioned by the Catholic Church. There are also six printed leaves from books in Latin, English, and Hebrew from various authors and time periods spanning 1475 to 1901. The items are housed in one 1/2 Hollinger box and one oversize flat box.
The collection is arranged in the order in which items were acquired.
