This collection of photographs documents the Presidency of Ronald E. Carrier, 4th President of James Madison University. The images display both his personal and professional life, especially between the years 1960-1985.

The William Garber Photograph Collection, 1930-1960, is comprised of about 1625 negatives and 70 prints that were taken and developed by William Garber of Garber’s Photo Shop in Mount Jackson, Virginia. The subject matter of the images encompasses the people, places, industries, automobiles, sports, events, disasters, etc., of the northern Shenandoah Valley.

This collection consists of 31 digital scans of photographs taken of the property at 1215 Hillcrest drive from c. 1950-1974.

The Saufley Family Collection, 1880-1903, consists of 66 photographs of the Saufleys and their in-laws, mainly the VanLear, Showalter, and Hooke families.

The Sheetz-Dellinger Collection, 1870s-1950s, is comprised of 92 photographs, 2 Edinburg High School diplomas, an assortment of school report cards and other papers, and various miscellaneous materials pertaining to James S. Sheetz, Frances Dellinger Sheetz, and their family and friends.

The Snyder Family Photograph Collection, 1850-1900, is comprised of 46 images of various men, women, and children that are members or acquaintances of the Snyder family living in Augusta County, Virginia, during the nineteenth century.
