Driving Directions to JMU Libraries
It is best to go to the University Parking Services, obtain a visitor parking permit, and request a map of campus. The parking staff will show you the location of the library and the nearest visitor parking spaces.
Directions to Parking Services:
Take exit 245 off-I81. Turn west onto Port Republic Road. Go a short distance to the stoplight at Port Republic Road and JMU's Bluestone Drive. Turn right onto Bluestone Drive and go past Zane Showker Hall on the left. Immediately past Zane Showker Hall, turn left onto Champions Drive and go to the parking deck where you will find assistance at the Parking Services office.
If traveling on route 42/High Street, go to Maryland Avenue. Turn east and go to South Main Street. The street becomes Port Republic Road after crossing over South Main Street. Continue east to the next stoplight at Port Republic Road and JMU's Bluestone Drive. Turn left onto Bluestone Drive and go past Zane Showker Hall on the left. Immediately past Zane Showker Hall, turn left onto Champions Drive and go to the parking deck where you will find assistance at the Parking Services office.
If traveling on Route 11/South Main Street, go to the Port Republic Road and South Main Street intersection. Turn east onto Port Republic Road and go to the next stoplight at Port Republic Road and JMU's Bluestone Drive. Turn left onto Bluestone Drive and go past Zane Showker Hall on the left. Immediately past Zane Showker Hall, turn left onto Champions Drive and go to the parking deck where you will find assistance at the Parking Services office.
Driving Directions to:
For directions to Carrier Library after 4 p.m. and on weekends:
Enter campus at the Port Republic Road entrance (Bluestone Drive). There is a posted map of campus on the Welcome Center kiosk. Stop there to get the location of the library. Drive into campus and park in G lot located near the railroad tracks. Carrier library is located at the top of the hill on the north end of campus just beyond Gibbons Dining Hall, the round brick building. |
