Importing Data from LEO into RefWorks
1) Go to LEO Library Catalog and search for the book you wish to cite.
Once you've found the book, click "Save," at which point a button labeled "View Saved" will appear to the far right. If you have multiple books to cite, save each of them.
2) Click "View Saved."

The next screen will look like this:

If you have multiple books, there will be multiple saved records.
3) Change the export location ("Send List To") to "Local Disk," then click the submit button. A pop-up window will open, asking you whether to open it or save. Click save. The default file name and extension will be "export.txt" and default location the desktop.
4) Click on Save to accept these defaults and save. From here, go to RefWorks. The easiest way is to find it at the Quick Links drop-down menu:
These are the last steps:
5) Log into RefWorks.
6) Choose References. Import from upper left corner.
7) Choose "James Madison University" as the Import Filter/Data Source.
8) Choose "James Madison University LEO [Innovative Interfaces INNOPAC]" as the database.
9) Specify a particular destination folder if you wish.
10) Use the "browse" button to find the file you saved in step 3; it should be on your desktop and named export.txt.
11) Click the "Import" button on the bottom of the screen.

Voila! Go to the Last Imported folder and your book(s) will be listed.
Searching LEO within RefWorks
You can also search the LEO Library Catalog and PubMed databases within RefWorks, though the searching options aren't as thorough. In RefWorks, go to the Search drop-down menu, to Online Catalog or Database. From there you can search LEO, PubMed, or hundreds of other databases. The search engine for LEO within RefWorks doesn't allow the fine-tuning searching capabilities as accessing LEO directly, but if you have a fairly simple search, it's a quick way to find and import the book or books.
