Online Article Citation

electronic article citation

APA Style

It is recommended for the APA style that citations now include a digital object identifier (DOI) if possible. This identifier provides a persistent link to the article's location on the Internet. Look for the DOI on the first page of the electronic journal article, near the copyright notice. It can also be found near the citation in Research Databases & Resources.

Magazine Citation

MLA Style

Magazines and journals are essentially the same, though the term, "journal" usually applies to a more scholarly publication.

Journal Citation

Turabian (Social Sciences) Style

To determine whether JMU owns a magazine or journal, go to Periodical Locator and type in the title of the magazine/journal, not the title of the article.

To search for a specific article, there is now a form to Find Articles by Citation.
