The item I want is listed in LEO as "Lost and Paid." Will it be replaced?

Since the library does not directly receive the payment for lost books, and because some items are difficult to replace, items listed as "lost and paid" are replaced on a case by case basis, usually through a review process by the subject liaisons who decide if we will purchase a replacement copy.  The library may sometimes buy an updated edition or an alternate title on the same topic.

We review "lost and paid" items every six months. If you would like to speed up the review of a "lost and paid" item, please inform the Acquisitions Librarian, who will try to replace it right away.  If your time frame is very short, you may want to utilize Interlibrary Loan.

Contact the Acquisitions Librarian at duncancj@jmu.edu.
