How do I find an item on reserve (including e-reserves)?

When your professor sends you to the library to use either physical or online reserves, your first step is to search in Course Reserves. You can find Course Reserves again by clicking on the Reserves tab in LEO Library Catalog or on the Course Reserves tab in the search area on the JMU Libraries front page.

Search by course name or number, or by your instructor's last name.

  • Once you've located your class, you'll see a list of items on reserve.
  • Look at the Call # column to tell you
    • which library to visit for each item,
    • what to ask for once you are there, and
    • if the item is currently available.
  • If the Call # column indicates the item is online ("Digital Audio" or "Internet"), click on the title and then look for the link to get to the online recording or article.
  • For Carrier Library Reserve items, request the item at the Circulation Desk.  For all other locations (East Campus Library, ETMC, Media Resources and Music Library), request at the main service desk at those locations.
