		<title>Deadline Approaching: Info Literacy Workshop</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p>JMU faculty are invited to apply for a workshop entitled Information <strong>Literacy for Teaching and Learning: A Workshop for Faculty and Librarians</strong> to be held on May 9-11, 2006 in Carrier Library.</p>
<p>During the workshop each faculty member/liaison librarian pair will design a course-related assignment that incorporates information-seeking and evaluation skills. </p>
<p><strong>Deadline for Application:</strong>&nbsp; Feb. 27, 2006 <br /><strong>Stipend:</strong>&nbsp; $1,000</p>

		<title>ebrary Online Book Collection</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p><font size="2" face="Arial">JMU students, faculty and staff now have access to&nbsp;more than&nbsp;11,000 online books in the humanities and social sciences through a subscription resource called </font><a href="http://site.ebrary.com/lib/jmulibrary"><strong><font size="2" face="Arial">ebrary</font></strong></a><font size="2" face="Arial">.&nbsp; The titles are mostly recent, with the&nbsp;majority of them published after 2000.&nbsp;&nbsp; Cambridge University Press, Greenwood, John Benjamins, Knopf, University of California Press, Routledge, Palgrave&nbsp;MacMillan, and Sage are among the many publishers. </font></p>
<p><a href="http://site.ebrary.com/lib/jmulibrary"><strong><font size="2" face="Arial">ebrary</font></strong></a><font size="2" face="Arial"> includes many&nbsp;features&nbsp;which makes&nbsp;using these books online ideal.&nbsp; Click on any word to link to definitions, biographies, or geographical information.&nbsp;&nbsp;Create&nbsp;a personal bookshelf of titles, and insert bookmarks, notes, and highlighting in your selections.</font></p>
<p><font size="2" face="Arial">When you use </font><a href="http://site.ebrary.com/lib/jmulibrary"><strong><font size="2" face="Arial">ebrary</font></strong></a><font size="2" face="Arial"> for the first time, you will be prompted to download a small plugin for your browser.</font></p>
