Information Literacy in the Disciplines
A Workshop for JMU Faculty
Spring Semester (Four Sessions), 2009
- Help students learn research skills in your discipline
- Create effective, efficient research assignments
- Teach students to critically evaluate information
- Receive a $500 stipend
This workshop pairs teaching faculty with liaison librarians to collaborate on integrating information literacy concepts into JMU coursework for majors or academic programs. Through a variety of exercises and presentations, workshop participants will modify an existing syllabus to incorporate an assignment that promotes information literacy skills.
Workshop Objectives:

Workshop Sessions
Participants must attend all four sessions.
