MICROFORMS

General Info

Microforms is located on the second floor of Carrier Library and is supported by the Circulation Department.  The Microforms room is open all hours that the library is open.  There are five microforms readers that are all connected to computers, allowing patrons to scan and save materials.  All machines are networked to a printer and card readers that use FLEX or DART copy cards (these are available for purchase on the 1st floor of the library next to the Circulation Desk).  The cost to print is 5 cents per page.  If you will be saving scanned versions of your documents, it is recommended that you bring a USB flash drive to store your work.

Getting Help

During peak times, the Microforms room is staffed with student assistants.  Should you need assistance when there is no student assistant present, there is a phone located in the microforms room that connects you to the Circulation desk.  You are also welcome to contact Kate Worley (568-4664, worleycc@jmu.edu) to set up an appointment for training.
