Proxy Configuration for Internet Explorer 7.x

Step 1: On the IE menu bar, click 'Tools', then 'Internet Options.'

Step 2: In the "Internet Options" window, click the "Connections" tab at the top. Then click the "LAN Settings" button near the lower right corner.

Step 3: In the 'LAN Settings' window, click the checkbox beside 'Use automatic configuration script', then click in the 'Address' textbox and type (or paste) the URL, http://www.lib.jmu.edu/proxy/jmuproxy.pac

Step 4: Click the "OK" button in the 'LAN Settings' window.

Step 5: Again in the "Connections" tab of the "Internet Options" window, choose your dial-up provider (in this example "Earthlink) in the "Dial Up Settings" box, then click on the "Settings" button. If you are using a network connection and do not have a dial-up provider skip to Step 9.

Step 6: In the "Settings" window, click the checkbox beside "Use automatic configuration script", then click in the "Address" textbox and type (or paste) the URL, http://www.lib.jmu.edu/proxy/jmuproxy.pac

Step 7: Click the "OK" button on the "Settings" window.

Step 8: Click the 'OK' button at the bottom of the 'Internet Options' window.

Step 9: Close the Internet Explorer window and restart Internet Explorer.
