Virginia Center for Health Statistics
Description: Data is collected via vital records, through the use of surveys, and by partnerships with other public and private entities such as the U.S. Census Bureau. Customers for our information include the general public, other legislative and executive branch agencies (both state and federal), local communities and researchers. The Division of Health Statistics works as a partner with the National Center for Health Statistics and with its counterparts in other states.
U.S. Census Bureau
Description: Provides official census data for the United States at the level of states, counties, cities, metropolitan areas and other census defined geographic areas. Mapping capabilities are included.
National Center for Health Statistics
Description:
United Nations Common Database (Cancelled)
The UN Common Database has been replaced by a new system, UNdata.
Description: Provides statistical information for every country in the world on numerous topics. Country Profiles presents data by country, while Topics List displays the categories of information for which statistics are available. Not all data are available for every country for every year.
Crime in the United States
Description: Includes statistics on crime and criminal activities, crime prevention, police and law enforcement agency activities.
Online Statistical Atlas of Virginia
Description: Over 60 graduated color maps and associated tables of Virginia, its counties and independent cities, based on data from the 1990 U.S. Census of Population and Housing. Presents information on topics in the broad categories of population, income and poverty, and housing and residency. Includes (1) an Atlas of Population and Housing for Virginia, (2) statisical lookup service for 1990 Census data, (3) archive of georeferenced data files for the United States (CIESEN), and (4) business, demographic, and economic statistics for Virginia and the United States, including population projections and estimates for the past decade (VAStat).
