Abstract: This regiment included many Rockingham County men. As Valley Guards from Harrisonburg they attended the trial and execution of John Brown. During the Civil War they were involved in many events and areas within Rockingham County. During the 1862 Valley Campaign they were involved in the Battle at Port Republic. They were also in action during the 1864 Valley Campaign. A roster of soldiers completes the book.
