Abstract: This address was by John E. Roller of Harrisonburg who served as an officer in the Confederate Army. It was reprinted from the New Market newspaper Shenandoah Valley of January 24, 1907. Roller extols various Confederate leaders in the Civil War and notes Rockingham County battles during the 1862 Valley Campaign. Turner Ashby, in death, is noted.
