Description: CBS anchorman Dan Rather once said he lives with two burdens - the ratings and the Vanderbilt Television News Archive. Since 1968, the Archive has consistently recorded, indexed, and preserved network television news for research, review, and study.
Includes NBC news streaming video for August 1968 to present and CNN streaming video for 1995 to present. The database currently includes 900,000 records, including abstracts at the story level of regular evening news programs and catalog records for each special news program. You can request complete programs or compilations of selected items to be copied onto videotape, but the Archive charges fees to recover their costs. JMU Libraries does not subsidize videotape duplication or compilation loan fees from Vanderbilt Television News Archive. |
