Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR)

A vast archive of social science data for research and instruction, available for download and re-use. The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), established in 1962, maintains and provides access to data sets created by social science researchers. These files require the use of statistical software, such as SAS, SPSS, or Stata.

iPoll (Roper Center)

The best finding aid to locate national US public opinion polls rich in a particular subject, iPOLL contains half a million survey questions and answers asked in the US over the last 70 years by more than 150 survey organizations. It is possible to access the catalog and questionnaire directly from iPOLL.

Its mission is to collect, analyze, and disseminate essential economic information to support public and private decision-making

Fed Stats (Federal Interagency Council on Statistical Policy)

Provides access to statistics and information produced by more than 70 U.S. government agencies. Subject index, keyword searching of agency web sites, "fast facts" links to frequently requested tables from the Statistical Abstract of the United States.

The General Social Survey

This biennial survey is useful for studying sociological time-trends since 1972.  Permanent questions appear on each survey since 1972, while topical modules to bring in new topics like computers / internet or new areas of sociological interest.

Historical Statistics of the United States

Compendium of historical statistics of the United States. Topics ranging from migration and health to crime and the Confederate States of America are each placed in historical context by a recognized expert in the field.

National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD)

National Center for Education Statistics

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), located within the U.S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences, is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education.

National Center for Health Statistics

National Center for Health Statistics' Web site, a rich source of information about America’s health.

Statistical Abstract of the United States

The Statistical Abstract of the United States, published since 1878, is the authoritative and comprehensive summary of statistics on the social, political, and economic organization of the United States.

U.S. Bureau of the Census

Provides official census data for the United States at the level of states, counties, cities, metropolitan areas and other census defined geographic areas. Mapping capabilities are included.

World Bank and IMF Network Libraries Catalog - JOLIS (World Bank)

Indexes books, journal titles, journal articles, working papers, conference proceedings, technical reports, videos, software, electronic resources, published IMF and World Bank materials, and more.

OECD iLibrary (OECD)

OECD iLibrary  (Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development) provides up-to-date information on what's going on around the world. It shares expertise and provides news from more than 100 countries. Search through statistics, economic and social data, browse through economic forecasts and analyses. OECD researches social changes and evolving patterns in trade, environment, agriculture, technology, fiscal policy and more.

UNData

The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) has launched a new internet-based data service for the global user community. It brings UN statistical databases within easy reach of users through a single entry point from which users can now search and download a variety of statistical resources of the UN System. This new interface provides researches access to materials formerly searched through the UN Common Database.

The WDI provides a comprehensive overview of development drawing on data from the World Bank and more than 30 partners.

The World Development Indicators (WDI) publication is the World Bank's premier annual compilation of data about development. The WDI includes more than 800 indicators in over 90 tables organized in 6 sections: World View, People, Environment, Economy, States and Markets, and Global Links.
