Bio/Historical Note:  Dr. Raymond J. Poindexter taught at Madison College beginning in 1949 and ending in 1969. He served as a Professor of Education as well as the Director of Student Teaching. As the Director of Student Teaching, Dr. Poindexter coordinated the placement of JMU students into local public schools for teaching experience. Dr. Poindexter served as Chairman for the George C. Marshall High School Evaluating Committee in 1965. George C. Marshall High School was founded in 1963 in Falls Church, Virginia in Fairfax County.

Scope and Content:  The George C. Marshall High School Evaluation Committee Collection, 1965-1966, consists of two folders. The first folder contains the Evaluation Committee Packet, put together by Dr. Poindexter. The packet contains a letter from Dr. Poindexter addressing the committee, the schedule of the evaluation committee, assignments for each individual subject committee along with contact information for key committee members, and evaluative criteria and procedures. The school bell schedule, master schedule, and map are also included. The second folder contains the George C. Marshall High School Faculty Handbook, 1965-1966.
