Special Collections Acquires Rare Issue of Amazing Stories|
Here in Special Collections at Carrier Library we are thrilled to have received the September 1927 issue of the pulp science fiction magazine, Amazing Stories.
This copy has a story by Hugo Gernsback, the influential editor who founded the magazine, along with the only story by H.P. Lovecraft that ever appeared in Amazing Stories, "The Colour Out of Space." And there is the second half of the serialized "War of the Worlds" too! That was a big month for Amazing Stories and now this magazine has made April a special month for us.
