Jennifer Switzer
Library Services Specialist
About me
I am a Library Services Specialist based out of Rose Library, but I also work at the Libraries Express location (a temporary location during the Carrier renovation). I attended JMU for undergrad and worked as a Resource Access Student Assistant in 2019. Since my graduation from JMU in 2020, I have worked in public libraries and completed my Masters in Library and Information Science.
While I am new to the field, my professional interests include the Open Access movement and digital humanities. I am also interested in librarianship as a realm for social justice work.

About Academic Engagement
Academic Engagement is a new, public-facing division of the Libraries, under formation now. Departments include Library and Information Services, the Music Library, Research & Education Services, Digital Projects, and Special Collections. These latter two teams are coming together soon as the department of Digital Scholarship and Distinctive Collections.
About Library and Information Services
We connect JMU’s diverse communities with the Libraries’ resources through a holistic approach to front-line services. We staff the main service desks in Carrier and Rose Libraries and coordinate the Ask the Library service. We provide support for checking out materials, help people find library items and electronic resources in our collections, and work closely with other Libraries’ departments to seamlessly connect people with the resources and expertise they need.
