Classroom Technology Update: Blu-ray

Posted on: April 11, 2023

This summer, Blu-ray players will be phased out of JMU classrooms. Instructors will still be able to play standard DVDs in the classrooms’ computers.

The Libraries’ Classroom Technology Services (CTS) team made this decision based on usage data. CTS will add an USB-C cable to the podium to allow for connectivity with newer laptops and mobile devices. If you need a Blu-ray player, Equipment Loans in Rose Library will be able to check one out to you, starting this fall. You can connect it using the HDMI cable in the classroom.
