100 Years of The Breeze: JMU’s Campus Newspaper

The Breeze newspaper in display case

The Breeze, JMU’s award-winning campus newspaper, was first published on December 2, 1922. One hundred years later, we are celebrating its centennial anniversary with an exhibit at the historic entrance of Carrier Library that includes front page coverage of historic moments from our campus and nation’s history over the last 100 years. See the April 2022 story from The Breeze. The exhibit was in the historic entrance of Carrier Library from April 2022 until April 2023.

Many thanks to Julia Merkel (Preservation Officer in JMU Libraries Special Collections) and Brad Jenkins (faculty advisor for The Breeze), for making this exhibit possible.
