Find a Starbucks café in both Carrier and Rose. In Memorial Hall, the Corner Bistro is down the hall from the Educational Technology & Media Center. Visit the JMU Dining site for their service hours.

Search our collections

Use Library Search to find books, e-books, articles, videos, music, and more. Learn what is included in Library Search results. Visit our online resources page for details on accessing databases, e-books, streaming video, and more. If you can’t find what you need, Ask the Library or contact the liaison librarian for your degree program.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

When you need a book, article, or other item that’s not in our collections, request it from Interlibrary Loan. We do our best to use a global network of libraries to get it to you quickly and free of charge.

Delivery service

Use our delivery service to request items ahead of time for pickup at any library location.

Course reserves

If your instructor has placed a shortened checkout period on high-use books for a class, find them in Course Reserves.

Newspaper subscriptions

Access the Washington Post, New York Times, and other newspapers and magazines using our subscriptions listed on our Newspapers and Magazines page.

Makerspaces

Create, tinker, craft, invent, and discover new skills in The Makery in Rose Library or Carrier Library.

Multimedia, audio/visual, and computing equipment

You can borrow equipment such as laptops, cameras, and microphones from the Learning Innovations & Design Desk in Carrier Library. Also, our Music Library offers equipment to check out. The Makery offers additional media production and makerspace equipment. HDMI cables and disc drives are available at the Ask The Library Desk in Rose Library.
