Hot off the presses: it’s the third edition of the JMU Libraries Magazine!
This is a very special issue: we are thrilled to highlight progress toward the restoration, renovation, and expansion of Carrier Library, set to reopen in August 2026! We hope you enjoy reading about just some of Carrier’s wonderful new spaces, services, and features.
Of course, a great university library is more than its architecture, equipment, and collections. In this issue, you will also find stories about our wonderful people and projects, including:
- Hands-on learning experiences of our student employees
- Innovative scholarship from our librarians and instructional designers, on topics ranging from AI to comic books
- A newly-published nineteenth-century novel from our manuscript collections
Our biennial magazine celebrates the people who power the Libraries, including you—all the faculty, staff, scholars, students, community members, and friends who partner with and support the Libraries. We’re deeply grateful for your collaboration and delighted to share these stories that showcase what we’ve accomplished together!
