In Memory: The Holocaust and Society

Humanities Librarian Malia Willey and History Professor Dr. Maura Hametz have created a new book display, In Memory: The Holocaust and Society, available and online and soon to be in Carrier Library.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day, commemorated each year on January 27, remembers the victims of the Nazi regime and fosters international understanding of Holocaust with the hope of preventing future genocidal violence.

In commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Week 2022, JMU has invited Holocaust scholar Dr. Oren Stier to offer an inaugural Holocaust Remembrance Day keynote on January 31 at 5pm. Dr. Stier’s work, Holocaust research by scholars at JMU, and other books and resources in this display offer an introduction to the diverse, worldwide scholarly literature in Holocaust Studies.
