Create, tinker, craft, invent, and discover new skills in our makerspace. Check out these free and fun workshops for students, staff, and faculty, offered by The Makery. Our knowledgeable and helpful staff are here to help you with academic and personal projects to foster your creativity!

Crochet Basics

Dip your toes into the world of fiber arts! Learn how to crochet a simple bookmark in this step-by-step workshop.

This workshop is held in The Makery in Rose Library, 1-2 p.m. on the below dates. This is not a series. Choose the date that works best for you:

Intro to 3D Modeling

Learn how to build your own 3D models from scratch using AutoDesk Fusion, a software application available in The Makery.

This workshop is held in The Makery in Rose Library, 12:30-1:30 p.m. on the below dates. This is not a series. Choose the date that works best for you:

Intro to Laser Cutting

Make something of your own on the laser cutter while you learn the basics of laser cutting. No laser cutting experience or materials needed. And you’ll be able to take home a completed keychain project!

Introduction to Audio Editing with Audacity

Get an intro to Audacity, a free tool for recording and editing audio for podcasts, interviews, oral histories, music, and more.

Mixed Media Painting

Join this workshop for a relaxing hour of creating mixed media art using acrylic paints and household items. All supplies provided!

Sewing 101

Learn how to use the sewing machines in The Makery as we walk through a simple sewing project. We’ll teach you how to sew, cut, iron, pin, and plan for sewing projects.
