Traditional Course Reserves
Placing materials on Course Reserve means shortening the loan period to 4 hours or 4 days so they may more easily be used by multiple students. JMU Libraries offers Course Reserves at all our library locations.
- Physical materials from the JMU Libraries’ collections and your personal copies of materials may be placed on reserve for students to access during library hours.
- E-books in our collection can also be linked from a Course Reserves list. No change to loan period.
- Personal copies of materials to be placed on reserve can be delivered to any service desk or via campus mail to Carrier Library, Room 3011, MSC 1704, Attention: April Beckler. Be sure to include the following information with materials for course reserve: Instructor name(s), Course number and section, library branch location for checkout, and reserve loan period (4-hour or 4-day).
- If you would like to request the purchase of materials not owned by JMU Libraries for course reserves, please email reserves@jmu.edu. In collaboration with Collection Administration, Course Reserves staff will review requests for new purchases for JMU Libraries that can be placed on course reserve at any of our 4 locations.
Instructors may also submit course reserve material list to reserves@jmu.edu.
