About me

In my role as Open Education Librarian, I coordinate programs and services to facilitate the discovery, adoption, adaptation, and creation of open and affordable course content. This includes exploring innovative educational trends and pedagogies, supporting the publication of open textbooks using Pressbooks, and contributing to the overall scholarly communications program. About Research & Scholarly Communications Unit

We provide holistic support for scholarly communications across JMU, including the development of inclusive and equitable practices related to publishing model and research infrastructure support. We provide expertise in copyright and IP, author rights, data and AI literacy and ethics, data services, internal Libraries reporting, open education, open publishing, and open infrastructure initiatives.

About Scholarly Communications Team

We provide expertise in copyright and IP, author rights, open education, open publishing, publishing models, and open infrastructure initiatives. We manage JMU Scholarly Commons and Aviary, the university’s institutional repositories, and provide consultations to the university community on their use. We can help answer questions about publishing models, retaining copyright, licensing, and how to make course materials open and accessible.
