Beyond Pocahontas: Recognizing Native Peoples of Virginia

In January, Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner secured federal recognition for six Native Virginian tribes: the Eastern Chickahominy, the Chickahominy, the Upper Mattaponi, the Nansemond, The Rappahannock, and the Monacan Nation. Please join us to celebrate the deep histories and cultures of these and other tribes native to Virginia in our new book display in Rose Library.
