This is a friendly reminder that if your course materials total $40 or less at the JMU Bookstore, you need to alert the relevant staff in your department when you submit your other course information so they can add this info to Course Scheduler for you.

Why enter this information? Taking this step will allow students to find your class when they filter for classes with “No/Low Cost Course Materials” in MyMadison. This helps students who may be struggling with the cost of textbooks to find more affordable courses and helps JMU to comply with Virginia legislation (section F) specifying that no/low-cost courses be clearly marked.

Deadline: You have until September 19 to edit details for the Spring enrollment period and then you will have another brief window during October 10-15. The Textbook Adoption deadline for Spring is October 15, so you may want to consider your textbook choices a few weeks before that to include this information in Course Scheduler.

Thank you! This is just one of 11 easy ways you can help make textbooks more affordable for JMU students.
