Fall 2021: What to Expect in the Libraries
Posted on: September 14, 2021
We are excited to welcome you back to campus and support you throughout the academic year! Here’s what you need to know about using the Libraries in Fall 2021:
Temporary Mask Requirement
The JMU Stop the Spread requirements for masks apply to the Libraries, including the group study rooms and café areas.
Library Spaces and Hours
Most library spaces are available to everyone during our hours of operation. With the start of fall courses, we are now offering expanded weekend hours.
Please check the hours and access information for Special Collections, Media Production Services, and The Makery before planning a visit to these areas. Some service areas may require an appointment.
Group Study Rooms
Our group study rooms are open again. Visit Reserve a Group Study Room to learn more.
Faculty may now put physical materials (printed books, etc.) or electronic materials on Course Reserve. Learn more about Course Reserves for Fall 2021.
Consultations, Workshops, and Events
Check out our workshops and programming, schedule a consultation, or request tech support to receive expert help for your teaching, learning, or research. JMU Libraries’ spaces may not be reserved for non-Libraries events at this time.
We’re here for you!
There’s so much more that you can do with the Libraries. Don’t miss our overviews of what we offer for students, graduate students, staff, faculty, and visitors.
Please visit Ask the Library or stop by a service desk if you have any questions about library operations or services this fall.
We will continue to update this page as more information becomes available. Please see JMU’s “Stop the Spread” page for up-to-date campus information.
