HBR is an online platform that offers curated historical records from the Rockingham County Court and surrounding counties. JMU Libraries staff and faculty, JMU History faculty and graduate students, local government officials, and others collaborate to maintain this growing digital archive.

Kevin Hegg represented the Libraries and project partners at the Commonwealth of Virginia Innovative Technology Symposium award ceremony held in Richmond in September 2023. HBR received the “Innovative Use of Technology” award in the Local category.

This project would not be possible without the leadership, work, and support of Kevin Borg, Chaz Haywood, Kevin Hegg, Megan Schoeman, and many others.

Congratulations to all involved on this project, which integrates research, teaching, and practice for the benefit of historians, students, and researchers at JMU and beyond!
