January Workshops for Faculty: Teaching with JMU’s Ed Tech Tools

We’re offering three workshops in January to support faculty. All are hybrid—offered on Zoom and in Rose Library room 3311. If you attend in person, please bring a laptop for hands-on training.

Canvas Essentials
Gain the skills and resources you need to create engaging courses in Canvas. Learn how to get the most out of Canvas, by using applications such as Canvas Studio, Zoom, Microsoft 365, and other powerful tools and features. Choose the date that works best for you:
- Tuesday, January 13, 1:15-2:15 p.m.
- Thursday, January 15, 1:15-2:15 p.m.
- Tuesday, January 20, 10-11 a.m.
- Wednesday, January 21, 10-11 a.m.
Enhancing Course Accessibility Using Ally
Discover how Anthology Ally, our accessibility checker integrated into Canvas, can help you create more inclusive and accessible courses. Ally helps you identify course materials that need improvement and provides students with alternative file formats based on their needs. Choose the date that works best for you:
- Tuesday, January 13, 2:30-3:30 p.m.
- Thursday, January 15, 2:30-3:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, January 20, 1-2 p.m.
- Wednesday, January 21, 1-2 p.m.
Teaching with JMU’s Digital Tools
Learn about some of the powerful online tools available to faculty and staff at JMU, including Zoom, Gradescope, Ally, Canvas Studio, and Microsoft 365. Choose the date that works best for you:
