About me

As Carrier Library’s Building Coordinator, I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of people on a daily basis. Library faculty and staff, studying students, our wonderful housekeepers, outside contractors, multitudes of Facilities Maintenance crews and even Duke Dog! From flickering lights and fluctuating temperatures to broken doors and buying new furniture and office supplies, there is always something to keep me busy. 2023 will be my 20th year with JMU libraries and during that time, I’ve been in a few different roles. Being a part of the Facilities Operations team has been the most challenging and rewarding position I’ve held and I hope to remain here for at least 20 years more!

I am also a self-professed crazy cat lady, quilter and collector of rubber duckies.  My office always has candy and is a cozy, welcome space to all.  Stop by and say hello if you see the door open.

About Facilities Operations

We are responsible for routine building operations and space usage in the Libraries’ facilities. We collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to keep library spaces functioning as an essential part of the Libraries’ service offerings to the community. This work includes setting operating hours, coordinating access and space use requests, writing public use policies, and managing library maintenance and space planning projects.

About Finance, HR, and Facilities

We are responsible for the general finance, human resources, and facilities operations within the Libraries.

About Libraries Administration

We support and challenge JMU Libraries’ staff and faculty to live up to our guiding statements — as we work together to provide excellent library and educational technology resources, spaces, services, and expertise to our campus community. Libraries’ Administration includes Communications and Outreach, Data Analytics, Facilities Operations, Finance and Human Resources, and the office of the Dean.
