I provide leadership for the Metadata Analysis & Operations team, whose work includes batch processing, metadata analysis, and cataloging of special formats and materials. I plan and implement workflows and projects to improve timely access to library resources; provide technical support and programming expertise for the creation, collection, preservation, and presentation of metadata; and collaborate with other departments to develop and implement metadata policies, procedures, and best practices.
About Metadata Strategies
We facilitate effective discovery of JMU collections through conventional and emergent information technologies. We create and manage metadata for scholarly, identity management, and cultural heritage purposes. We also create and manage metadata for relevant resources both maintained internally by the Libraries and external to it. We provide “metadata-as-a-service” consultations and training for faculty, staff, and students.
