Video and Audio Production Studio

April 2026 update

The Video & Audio Production Studio in Rose Library will be closed June 19 through July 5, 2026. It will reopen on July 6 in Rose. You may request a media production consultation even when these in-person services are closed. Another media studio will open in Carrier on August 3, 2026.

About the Video and Audio Production Studio

JMU Libraries staff use professional video and audio recording equipment to create instructional content for JMU faculty and staff members. You can coordinate with Libraries staff to use our professional video and audio production studio located on the 5th floor of Rose Library, and we also offer on-location video recording services.

Amenities

The video and audio production studio is equipped with these amenities:

Professional video and audio recording devices, lighting, and various backdrops
Teleprompter
HoverCam Solo document camera
Lightboard
Camtasia (screen capture software)

Examples

We can assist with video recordings for a variety of purposes, including:

tutorials or “how to” videos
pre-lab demonstrations
class introductions
in-studio interviews of subject matter experts
video abstracts
narratives (scenarios, skits, or stories that help with the facilitation of learning)
short lectures or modules used in JMU courses
select informational videos (depending on the scope and nature of the project)
