Books and Other Resources for Your Summer Research and Work
Posted on: May 26, 2020
While many resources are available digitally through JMU subscriptions or elsewhere online, we know that printed books and other tangible library resources are important to many of you, especially over the summer.
Even as we make future plans for safe access to our facilities and physical collections, we’re here to help with your current needs.
Please contact your liaison librarian or Ask the Library for help getting online access to the books and materials you need. They may point you to the National Emergency Library, which offers temporary access to millions of scanned books.
You may also want to check with JMU’s Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service, which can request digitized articles and book chapters from other institutions. However, our ILL staff will not be able to request books or other tangible items from other institutions until libraries around the world begin shipping books to each other again.
Questions about library books you have right now? You may return them in our book drops or via the mail, but you do not need to return them yet. Read more.
Over the summer, we will continue to share online resources that will be helpful to you during this time, as well as updates on our plans for the summer and fall.
