JMU Historic Photos Online

JMU Libraries staff is actively migrating the JMU Historic Photos collection to a new platform that will replace these webpages by Summer 2027. Contact library-special@jmu.edu to request high resolution reproductions from this collection.

Contains approximately 1,650 photos from 1909 to 1997, mostly black and white, ranging in size from 1×2 to 8×10. Numbers after a heading indicate the number of folders containing pictures in that category. The collection is broken into two chronological periods:

• Pre-1985, which constitutes the bulk of the collection with approx. 1,500 photos.
• 1985+, which contains approx. 150 photos from 1985 to 1997.
