Thank you to everyone who responded to our recent campus survey about what you need from us! We can’t do our work without hearing from you.
We received some great ideas, which are being funneled into the appropriate channels for consideration.
Your feedback has also helped to inform our recent communications on Digital Accessibility (related to meeting Title II requirements), including:
- PDF and file conversion in Canvas: Converting Files into Accessible Formats in Canvas (using SensusAccess and Ally)
- Accessibility tips: Bite-sized Tips for Digital Accessibility (tables, alt text, captions, headings, accessible PDFs, and more)
- Workshops on digital media: Digital Media Creation Workshops in Spring 2026 (captioning videos, audio editing, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Camtasia, etc.)
We also received questions about:
- Using Adobe Photoshop or Acrobat Pro: The Adobe Creative Suite is available many places at JMU, including The Makery and our 24/7 space in Rose Library. If you’re working from home, many free online tools are available to eSign, merge, compress, or edit a PDF, although these are not supported by JMU.
- Borrowing audio and video equipment: Learn more about our equipment loans, including mics, tripods, cameras, external hard drives, and more.
- Learning about all we offer: Check out our Faculty, Staff, and Student Services pages and keep reading our weekly emails!
