Heritage Months & Observances

Each year, JMU Libraries compiles a list of resources and events to celebrate each of the following heritage months:

• Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15)
• LGBTQ+ History Month (October, includes International Pronouns Day)
• Native American Heritage Month (November)
• Black History Month (February)
• Women’s History Month (March)
• Disability Advocacy Week (end of March)
• National Arab American Heritage Month (April)
• Earth Day (April 22)
• Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month (May, celebrated by JMU CMSS in April)
• Pride Month (June, celebrated by JMU with Dukes Pride Week in March/April)
• Juneteenth (June 19)
