About me
I am a second-year M.A. student in the Department of English and the Graduate Assistant for Instructional Design at JMU Libraries. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English from Towson University, where I was a Writing Fellow supporting student writers in first-year seminar courses on the geography of food. Additionally, I worked as a Correctness Writing Expert for Proofit at Grammarly, helping to train and improve their AI-based digital writing assistant. During my time at JMU, I have served as a teaching assistant for courses in world literature and British literature. With a commitment to disability- and trauma-informed pedagogy, I seek to foster accessible, compassionate, and transformative engagement with language and literature.
My primary research interests are ecocriticism, postcolonialism, affect theory, disability studies, and Asian diaspora studies. I am also a poet whose work has been published in Cagibi, Cordite Poetry Review, and other journals. Outside of my academic and writerly pursuits, I enjoy strength training, sustainable fashion, narrative-rich video games, and the occasional cup of milk tea.
About Instructional Design Department
We are committed to building an engaging and inclusive learning environment at JMU by consulting with instructors and programs on instructional design (ID) for courses, curricula, and learning initiatives.
As instructional designers, our practices are informed by learning sciences, systems thinking, and pedagogy-driven community building. Centering equity, accessibility, and inclusion, we support instruction, learning, and scholarly work by providing instructional design solutions to enhance and sustain learners’ success. Our work simultaneously holds space to explore evidence-based emerging teaching and learning trends, tools, and methods while centering an ethic of care and a learner-centered experience
