Carolyn Schubert

Associate Dean for Academic Engagement, Professor

About me

As Associate Dean for Academic Engagement, I plan and strategize library services related to teaching, learning, and research using information in our local collections, resources from around the world, and in our spaces. Learning how to find, evaluate, and use information is key to developing information literate students and faculty. Preserving information for people to use is an important aspect of this work. I work with experts across three departments — Access & User Services (including Access & Delivery team, Library & Information Services team, and the Music Library) Digital Scholarship & Distinctive Collections (including Special Collections), and Research & Education Services — to achieve this work.

As a researcher, I have interests around liaison librarianship, evidence-based decision-making, and information-seeking behaviors. I have a growing interest in user experience, service design, and shared leadership/governance. Please check out my Google Scholar profile to view my past publications, presentations, and other scholarly achievements.
