About me

As liaison to the School of Nursing, I help students, faculty, and staff effectively gather health information to inform their decision-making. My main duties include:

  • Provide instruction on finding, evaluating, and using health information sources
  • Consult with students about health research and tools to manage research (ex: citation tools)
  • Select books, journals, databases, videos, and more to support teaching & learning at JMU
  • Help instructors understand copyright and fair use as they apply to course materials

As Director of Research & Education Services, I provide leadership for planning, implementing, promoting, and assessing Research & Education Services programs and services, including the Libraries’ Liaison Librarian program, information literacy instruction, and consultation services. I also collaborate with colleagues across the Libraries to develop integrated, innovative library services, as well as contribute to the overall planning and management of Libraries. As appropriate, I also collaborate with campus partners to support the coordination of aligned research and education-focused services.

As a researcher, I have interests around liaison librarianship, evidence-based decision-making, and information-seeking behaviors. Please check out my SelectedWorks or Google Scholar profile to view my past publications, presentations, and other scholarly achievements.
