Rose Library and Music Library to Temporarily Close June 19 Through July 5
Posted May 9, 2026 in Carrier Renovation News, Featured News, JMU Libraries News

We are excited to welcome you back to Carrier Library starting Monday, August 3! To ensure Carrier opens on schedule, we must briefly close two of our other locations to redistribute technology, books, and offices across the library system.
Please note the following temporary closures:
- The Music Library will be closed June 19 through July 5.
- Rose Library will be closed June 19 through July 5. The Makery and our Equipment Loans service will remain closed until August 3, as they are relocating to Carrier.
Because of these closures, borrowing and returning our books and other physical items will be limited this June and July.
Facilities Available During These Closures
While these facilities are closed, you may still:
- Visit the Educational Technology & Media Center in Memorial Hall to access its books, materials, and spaces.
- Swipe into the Rose Library 24/7 Space using your JACard to access printers, study space, bathrooms, and a computer lab.
- Use the book drop outside of Rose Library (pictured above).
